Udaipur
Udaipur is a city, a municipal corporation and the administrative headquarters of the Udaipur district in the state of Rajasthan in western India. It is located 403 kilometers (250 mi) southwest of the state capital, Jaipur and 250 km northeast from Ahmadabad. Udaipur is the historic capital of the kingdom of Mewar in the former Rajputana Agency.
Udaipur is a very popular tourist destination. Apart from its history, culture, and scenic locations, it is also known for its Rajput-era palaces. The Lake Palace, for instance, covers an entire island in the Pichola Lake. Many of the palaces have been converted into luxury hotels. It is often called the "Venice of the East", and is also nicknamed the "Lake City" or "City of Lakes".Lake Pichola,Fateh Sagar Lake, Udai Sagar and Swaroop Sagar in this city are considered the most beautiful lakes in the country.

Dabok airport, also known as Maharana Pratap Airport, is situated in a satellite town about 20 kilometres from Udaipur. Daily Indian Airlines flights connect Udaipur with Jodhpur, Jaipur, Mumbai and Delhi. There are daily flights from Delhi, Mumbai and Jaipur on Jet Airways and Indian Airlines.
By train
Udaipur City has direct trains on the broad gauge network to most of the major cities in Rajasthan and the rest of India such as Khajuraho,Alwar, Jaipur, Kota, Chittorgarh, Ajmer, Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Ratlam, Indore, Ujjain, Mumbai, Surat, Baroda, and Gwalior [Agra, U.P.] and a metre gauge network to Ahmedabad.
By Road:
Udaipur is connected to Delhi and Mumbai by National Highway 8 (NH 8). The drive is about 10-11 hours long and covers a distance of roughly 700 kilometres from both the cities. Many tourists visiting Udaipur prefer to drive on their own. If you do not wish to use your personal vehicle, there are several tour operators that provide vehicles on hire. Alternatively, one can also hire chauffeur-driven vehicles for travelling to Udaipur.

1. City Palace, Udaipur
City Palace, Udaipur, is a palace complex in Udaipur, in the Indian state Rajasthan. It was built over a period of nearly 400 years being contributed by several kings of the dynasty, starting by the Maharana Udai Singh II as the capital of the Sisodia Rajput clan in 1559, after he moved from Chittor. It is located on the east bank of the Lake Pichola and has several palaces built within its complex. Udaipur was the historic capital of the former kingdom of Mewar in the Rajputana Agency and its last capital.
2. Lake Pichola
Lake Pichola, situated in Udaipur city in the Indian state of Rajasthan, is an artificial fresh water lake, created in the year 1362 AD, named after the nearby Picholi village. It is one of the several contiguous lakes, and developed over the last few centuries in and around the famous Udaipur city. The lakes around Udaipur were primarily created by building dams to meet the drinking water and irrigation needs of the city and its neighborhood. Two islands, Jag Niwas and Jag Mandir are located within Pichola Lake, and have been developed with several palaces to provide views of the lake.
3. Jag Mandir
Jag Mandir is a palace built on an island in the Lake Pichola. It is also called the "Lake Garden Palace". The palace is located in Udaipur city in the Indian state of Rajasthan. Its construction is credited to three Maharanas of the Sisodia Rajputs of Mewar kingdom. The construction of the palace was started in 1551 by Maharana Amar Singh, continued by Maharana Karan Singh (1620–1628) and finally completed by Maharana Jagat Singh I (1628–1652). It is named as "Jagat Mandir" in honour of the last named Maharana Jagat Singh. The royal family used the palace as a summer resort and pleasure palace for holding parties. The palace served as a refuge to asylum seekers on two separate occasions.

The three levels of the Palace are arranged in semicircular arc around and internal courtyard. The balconies and the rooftop enjoy the view of the south of garden laid below the dam wall of Lake Pichola while to west Jag Mandir and Lake Palace. The Shiv Niwas Palace also has in built Multi Cuisine restaurant and also has Pool side restaurant which is open throughout the day and serves light snacks.

The fateh Prakash palace is located on the eastern shores of Lake Pichola and it is 300 meters away from city palace Museum. It offers amazing designed suites with the royal artifacts. This palace features an outdoor swing pool. Guest can enjoy Indian, Chinese and Continental cuisines from the in- built restaurant.
The nearby places to Fateh Prakash palace are Gulab Bagh and Zoo and Udaipur Bus Station.
